Calling London Teachers!
We want to get some London groups up and running as soon as possible, so to help get this started, we are holding a twilight event at the English and Media Centre on Tuesday 25th September from 5.30-7.30. There will be drinks and nibbles and an opportunity to network with colleagues. If you’d like to come, please e-mail us at email@example.com
…and all over the country
The MEA is committed to ensure grass-roots activity by supporting local or regional groups with small grants. We already have a number of such groups set up, as shown on the map, and in Autumn 2012 hope to see this number swell with several London groups and others set up by members around the country.
If you’d like to set up a local group and bid for a small grant to fund your meetings, this is what to do:
- Provide a brief outline of what you think you want your group to do and how far its “reach” might be. This can include running a termly meeting, organising a trip to a media institution, copying and sharing resources, developing a newsletter. A brief set of bullet-points is sufficient with an idea of the schools/colleges you could make contact with to get involved.
- A commitment to feed back a short report in July of progress and future plans.
- Name, address, telephone number and contact details of the group leader, school and college. Please note we are only able to issue cheques through a school/college address, not to an individual account.
Please send to firstname.lastname@example.org.
